How to Set Your Goals for 2025

How to Set Your Goals for 2025

Start the Year Off Right

It's been almost 5 years, since I bought my first planner and wrote out my goals for the year. Me doing this didn't mean that, now everything I wrote down I would achieve.

What it did do was, help me to create a roadmap to follow towards my goals. At the end of that year I believed in the process of writing things down.

So every year after that I bought a planner and wrote out my goals for the year. This may be new to you, or you may think its not for you.

If this is you, I say give it a try. Take a notebook, or use a notes app on your phone. It doesn't have to be nothing expensive.

When you start to think of your goals here are some tips to help you out.

  1. Define Clear Goals: Be specific about what you want to achieve. For example, "I want to get my CCNA certification" or "I want to reach 200 pounds" (that one's been on my list for years, lol).

  2. Break Down Your Goals into Smaller Steps: If you're aiming for a certification, break it into steps like setting aside study time, choosing study materials, and scheduling practice exams. One thing that will start to happen at this step is this will become a habit and part of your daily routine. (Trust Me)

  3. Find a motivator: A motivator could be anything that will inspire you to do the thing. Could be a better job with more pay. Just make sure it will keep you focused.

  4. Create an Action Plan: In your calendar or in your planner, schedule the time to work on your goals. As we get older and have more distractions. Most of the time if its not on our calendar it wont get done lol.

  5. Track Progress: Weekly or monthly you want to see how you have been doing. If you notice something that needs to be changed. Here is where you fine tune it.

The above steps will get you started and there is one last thing I forgot to mention..... CELEBRATE YOUR WINS

When your hit one of your goals make sure you celebrate reaching it. The way you celebrate is totally up to you.
